Introduction
Conclusion
Conclusion

My exposition "Defenses in Harmony" in the Musée du Maîtres et Artisans du Quebec, 615 Ste Croix, à Montreal starts tomorrow and will last till October 4, 2015:
Introduction
Like
everywhere in the world, here in Canada nature is in danger. Why not taking
organic materials to show its beauty, to protect it, to defend it?
The
exposition “Defense in Harmony”* wants to give ideas to save the nature in
Canada in the spirit of the First Nations and the Inuit, which have lived long
time in balance with the elements.
Fire
In the
creation of my sculptures the materials have always been playing a very
important role; their shapes and diversity have given me ideas, they have
inspired me.
Thanks to …
… mammoth ivory for its clefs and colors. I’m
proud to work with such a great treasure of the ice age;
… cow bones which taught me tolerance and
patience;
… the Tagua nut for its warm and kind
smallness, which told me to create forms, sculptures and animals pretty small
and round;
… antler for helping me to create sculptures in
bigger dimensions;
… horn for its tenacity and its variety in
color.
Thanks to
organic materials for your warm fire which defends our harmony.
Air
I love the angels of the “Musée des Maîtres
et Artisans du Québec”. Angels
have always been one of my favorite subjects. Throughout the times, people
loved the idea of angels and artists realized them in sculptures and paintings.
For me,
angels are still modern. They help us in all situations of our daily life. We
find angels in our family, among our friends, in pets and animals, in plants,
in the sky, everywhere. They are here to encourage us, to relieve us, to
inspire us, to help us and to protect us. They defend our harmony.
Water
Source of
life, water is everywhere in Canada.
You see
Sedna here in my exposition, the Queen of Waters who rules the animals of the
ocean. The wild beasts have confidence in Sedna. If there are too many fish in
the net of the fishermen, she gets mad as you see from her wild hair. She sends
thunderstorms and lightning over the sea and would not allow Fishermen to fish
before the balance of nature is re-established. That’s how the biodiversity is
maintained.
The world
needs a Sedna for the “Defense in Harmony”.
Earth
The new
world has always been a point of attraction, a land rich of natural treasures.
The
American Indians who lived in this country have always attracted a great
fascination. When I visited the Native Friendship Center of Montreal, I met a
guide who organizes “Survival Camps” in the sense of “back to nature” to
rebalance stressed business men. (redurbanproject@gmail.com)
One
possible mission for the First Nations could be to take and guide us back to
the nature, that’s how they could give harmony to our society overloaded with
technology. This way they defend the nature in Canada.
The Human Being
The human
being plays a central role in the “Defense in Harmony”. It’s us, the humans, who depend on a balanced
nature. Every day it’s our responsibility to defend nature, to save and protect
it.
Conclusion
The topics
related to the First Nations and the Inuit are pretty known in Canada. Well
known is also the “Musée des Maîtres et Artisans du Québec“ in Montreal.
To promote
the idea of the “Defenses in Harmony”, I will bring this exposition to Germany
when I go back next year. And I will tell everyone about the experiences which
I made here.
Photos are coming in the next post ;-)
